Engineering Students Represented in Top Projects from Campus 1871

Armour College of Engineering students were represented among three of the four winning teams at Campus 1871. The event is a collaborative two day “hackathon” where 90 students from universities across Illinois team up to create their own startup companies and pitch them to a panel of entrepreneurs. Armour College students were a part of the winning teams outlined below.

1st Place: Grapevine

Description: A platform that matches black women with black hair stylists.
Armour team member: Zuri McClelland (BME, Graduate)

2nd Place: ChiDates

Description: A video-based dating service targeting the Indian population
Armour team member: Ricky Leavell (CHE, Undergraduate)

3rd Place (tie): AnySpace

Description: A platform to match organizations with available space to those that need space.
Armour team member: Patrick Bartman (CPE, 2nd Year)
