Five Top Student Videos Ready for the Public to Judge

Flix2Clix videographers to show the world how they see IIT

Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) students were asked to show the world their view of IIT and they have responded. Five finalists in the Flix2Clicks student video contest are online at www.flix2clix.com and are ready to be viewed and voted on.

Judging will continue through October 24. The public’s favorite videos will win cash and bragging rights. First place winner will receive the $1,000 grand prize; second place, $500; and third place $250. The first-place video will be featured on the university’s website for a year.

Flix2Clix student video contest, organized by IIT’s Communications and Marketing Department, included 84 teams of students shooting and editing video with their own or borrowing cameras and facilities at IIT’s Digital Media Center. Students were provided access to stock video of scenes around IIT and Chicago created specifically for this contest and music. IIT is the first university to sponsor a student video contest of this kind.

Students created short videos about IIT and submitted them by October 4. A panel of judges, made up mostly of students, selected the best five videos. The top three winners chosen by the public through the online judging will be announced at a November 1 film festival.
