IIT Stuart Undergraduate Student Leading “Up to Us” Team
IIT’s “Up to Us” team, led by IIT Stuart undergraduate student George Batah, was recently selected as one of 25 schools nationwide to participate in a competition that empowers students to educate their peers on how long-term federal debt can affect their economic opportunities, and what their generation can do to have a voice in promoting bipartisan solutions. Following a campus-wide campaign and evaluation, the winning team will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize and be recognized by President Clinton at CGI U 2014.
Batah just returned from the 2013 Net Impact Conference, where Up to Us sponsored all team leaders’ expenses to attend the conference. Gerald Doyle, Vice Provost for Student Access, Success and Diversity Initiatives, advised the team during the application period; the Up to Us team will execute their campus campaign in early 2014.
