Chicago, IL — February 28, 2006 —

Twenty members of Armour Chapter Triangle Fraternity at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) participating in the 6th annual Polar Plunge fundraising event for the Special Olympics of Chicago are auctioning the opportunity for corporate sponsors to paint their company logo or slogan on the students’ backs. The winning bidders will have their company name on display as the students take the plunge into Lake Michigan at North Avenue Beach on March 5 at 10:15 a.m.

The fraternity is running two auctions, each of which provides the winning bidder with ten student “billboards,” at the Polar Plunge.

“Triangle has participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge every year,” said fraternity member Paul Rozier. “This year we wanted to find an interesting way to raise more money for this worthy cause.”

Last year’s Polar Plunge raised more than $100,000 for Special Olympics Chicago. Each of the approximately 400 "plungers" is asked to raise at least $125 before jumping into the lake.
