IIT’s Wasan Receives Alpha Chi Sigma Chemical Engineering Award
Illinois Institute of Technology’s Darsh Wasan, Motorola Chair and Vice President for International Affairs, has been selected to receive the 2005 Alpha Chi Sigma Award for Chemical Engineering Research from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). The award will be presented in October at the Honors Ceremony held during the AIChE’s 2005 annual meeting in Cincinnati.
Wasan is being honored for his discovery of self-organization of nanoparticles in thin films and the resulting fundamental forces stabilizing them. Additionally, the award recognizes the contributions Wasan’s applied research has made to the food, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and personal care products industries over the past ten years.
Dr. Wasan is internationally known in the field of colloid and interfacial science for pioneering research, inspirational teaching, and the development of novel technology.
