Parth Amin (BSBA ‘85)

Founder, Chairman of the SLK Group

Parth Amin is the Chairman of SLK with a modern and progressive management style. He believes in building careers through learning and innovation, and achieving business excellence through customer relationships.

He began his career in manufacturing after graduating from Illinois Tech Stuart School of Business, and transitioned into the information technology industry in the early 1990s. Mr. Amin founded the SLK Group in 2000 and since then has been a consistent business leader with commendable acumen and industry foresight.

Today the SLK Group, comprising of software and business process outsourcing, is 5,000 people strong and growing. He has also held various offices as a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, including serving as its Chair of the Bangalore chapter and was awarded the Illinois Institute of Technology’s International Award of Merit in 2013. He has served as a member of the Illinois Tech Stuart School of Business Board of Advisors since 2015.

Mr. Amin believes in a work-life balance and his interests vary from scuba diving, cycling, swimming, and yoga as well as playing the Indian classical musical instrument, “the Santoor.”

Toufik Simo

Candidate for Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Undergraduate student speaker

Toufik Simo grew up between Syria and Saudi Arabia, and transferred to the Stuart School of Business in the fall of 2013. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, Toufik served as the Vice President of the Undergraduate Business Council. He was also a mentee in the Stuart Board of Advisors Mentorship Program, a student member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society in Chicago, and an Illinois Tech Student Government Association Senator.

Toufik recently participated in The Global Leadership Experience, a four day leadership program sponsored by University of Chicago and British Petroleum. He also co-founded the Syrian Youth Empowerment (SYE) organization with three other Illinois Tech students. SYE is an initiative to support Syrian high school students who wish to study in the United States. This past winter, Toufik drove 3,200 miles throughout the American Midwest and Southeast. He toured seven states, 12 cities, and visited hometowns of American icons including, Thomas Edison, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears.

Toufik worked as a summer compliance intern at Envestnet Assest Management as a Registered Investment Advisor and Asset Manager. He recently accepted an offer to work full time as a Credit Data Quality Analyst at BMO Harris Bank.

Salonie Sehgal

Candidate for Master of Science in Finance
Graduate student speaker

Originally from New Delhi, India, Salonie Sehgal started pursuing the Master of Science in Finance at the Stuart School of Business in 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Studies from the College of Business Studies at the University of Delhi. Salonie worked in research and portfolio management at a boutique wealth management firm based out of New Delhi before leaving to pursue a M.B.A. in Finance from the Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai, India. She graduated from the M.B.A. program in 2010 and joined Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom company. Salonie worked in the Treasury and Tax Strategy divisions and was recognized as one of the “Future Finance Leaders” at Airtel.

At Stuart, Salonie was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society and has been involved in various activities at the university. Salonie represented Stuart at the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Research Challenge, where her team won the Chicago local-level final competition and competed in the semi-final round of the Americas Regional competition. She is also the Fund Manager of Stuart Investments, a student-run 501(c)(3) investment fund.

Following graduation, Salonie plans to pursue a career in finance that will allow her to apply her financial and analytical skills in investment management and/or corporate finance in the United States.
