Khalili, Ashton and Cutler Featured in Spring Issue of IIT Magazine
Nasrin Khalili, Associate Professor of Environmental Management (PhD ENVE ’92), and Weslynne Ashton, Assistant Professor of Environmental Management and Sustainability, were featured prominently in the research-themed spring issue of IIT Magazine for their work on the U.S. State Department-supported research project, Pathways to Cleaner Production in the Americas. Khalili’s research is concentrated on faculty and curriculum development, more specifically on the design of cleaner production educational models that can bring about the human capital needed to support sustainable development. Ashton’s work looks at how market-based incentives and access to capital might spur smaller enterprises to adopt cleaner production practices. The magazine also welcomed IIT’s new tenure-track faculty, including IIT Stuart’s Jennifer Cutler, Assistant Professor of Marketing. Cutler’s research focuses on marketing and management, incorporating elements from behavioral economics and computational social science.
