Scott Morris named APA Fellow
Scott Morris, professor of psychology, was recently named a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA). He was selected by the APA’s board of directors to serve as a fellow for Division 14 of the APA, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology. His tenure as fellow will begin in January 2019.
Morris’ research is focused on the development of statistical methods to support applied research, including important contributions to meta-analysis. His work on adverse impact analysis is highly regarded in fields related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) litigation and compliance and has been cited by leading authorities in employment law and labor economics. He has also conducted substantive research exploring issues of validity and discrimination in employee selection systems. Morris has published over 50 journal articles and chapters and one book, and he has delivered over 75 conference presentations. Many of the articles are multidisciplinary, expanding the reach of psychology to fields outside the mainstream. He has spent the last 20 years supporting and mentoring dozens of industrial-organizational psychology graduate students who have gone on to successful teaching and consulting careers.
