IIT Stuart undergraduate student Chun Yan Huang has won the Edwin H. Lewis Prize for Fiction as part of the 50th Annual Writing Contest sponsored by Lewis College of Human Sciences’ Department of Humanities. A reception for all the entrants, with the awarding of prizes, was held April 23.

Huang’s first-place entry, “Life Goes On,” follows the story of the protagonist Nanami: “Ever since she was a child, Nanami had memories that were not her own—memories that served to ignite curiosity, uncertainty, and longing within her. It is not until several years later that she finally gathers her courage to travel to the place that she remembers, yet does not now know. There, in the town that feels like home, she learns to let go and say goodbye.”
