Tech “Thought Leader” to Speak at IIT

Craig Watson, president of Payment Engineering LLC, a Chicago-based technology development and intellectual property firm focusing on electronic payments, speaks at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Thursday, March 13, 2003, as part of the continuing “Thought Leaders” Seminars on the Main Campus. Watson's lecture takes place from 4-5 p.m. in the Wishnick Hall Auditorium, 3255 S. Dearborn Street.

Watson was formerly the Corporate Vice President and CIO at FMC Corporation, Watson was also FMC's Region CFO for Asia-Pacific based in Tokyo. Prior to joining FMC, he was Vice President and CFO of Pepsi-Cola Central Company, head of international mergers and acquisitions analysis at Merck & Company, and held international line and staff positions with Cummins Engine Company.

Watson, who holds an A.B. from Harvard and an M.A. in economics from Princeton, has been published in the Harvard Business Review, McKinsey Quarterly, Chief Executive Magazine, Sloan Management Review, Business Horizons, Cyber Strategies and Newsweek. He presently serves on the Board of Trustees at IIT, a member of the editorial advisory board of Information Week, and a board member of the Metropolitan Planning Council, and the Metropolitan Chicago YMCA.

The “Thought Leaders” program is a yearlong series of lectures featuring prominent entrepreneurs and leaders, sponsored by IIT’s Ed Kaplan Entrepreneurial Studies program and the IIT Leadership Academy
