Sustainable Transportation and Infrastructure Research Center (STAIR)
The center will build a consortium among private industries, transportation agencies and universities with the mission to develop and promote market-ready and high payoff innovations for highway construction work zones to the transportation community.

The Mission of the Center Is:
- To develop and update highway work-zone safety audit guidelines by addressing the concerns and interests of all stakeholders, including transportation agencies, the driving public, and private industries (e.g., construction, insurance, and trucking)
- To discover/develop/identify/transfer new technologies and measures for improving work zone safety and reducing its negative impacts on private industries and national economy
- To provide work zone safety training and education to the transportation community and the public
