VPN - Setup and Connect Using Red Hat Based Linux

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL

1. In a browser window, go to vpn.iit.edu
2. Log in using your Illinois Tech Portal username and password. Do not change the Group dropdown
3. After clicking the Login button, it will autodetect your operating system and provide a download button.
4. Click the Download for... button.

Setup and Connect Using Cisco AnyConnect for Red Hat based Linux

1. Add EPEL repository to CentOS
   
   sudo yum install epel-release
    
2. Install the OpenConnect package
   
   sudo yum install openconnect
    
3. Open a terminal window and run the following command.
   
   sudo openconnect vpn.iit.edu
   
   
4. Enter the GROUP which will be IIT-VPN-USERS and hit enter
   
5. Enter your portal credentials (without @hawk.iit.edu, @iit.edu, etc.) and hit enter.
   
6. When you see Established DTLS Connection, you are connected.
7. You will need to keep the terminal open and the program running as long as you want to be connected.

Disconnect from the IIT VPN

Simply close the program/terminal
