The Office of Technology Services (OTS) manages Illinois Tech's agreement with Concord to provide eFax services to the university. The university does not support analog based fax machines. For those departments that require the sending and receiving of facsimiles, the Concord eFax solution allows end users to securely send and receive faxes from any location using your university email.
Since there is a cost associated with eFax please determine if you really need this service.
A fax number has a “primary” email that will send outbound faxes and another “primary” email, which can be the same or different from the outbound primary email, that will receive their inbound faxes.
Please review the user guide for error messages, sending and receiving fax, using the portal, supported file types etc.
To Send a Fax
Using Departmental Email
If you specified using a departmental email address make sure to enable the “send as” feature, instructions on how to do this are located here. To send a fax:
- Open email, change the “From” field to the departmental email address
- In the “To” field: Type the fax in the format: faxnumber@concordsend.com
- Attach the document
- Click Send
Personal Email
If you specified your own personal email address then to send a fax:
- Open email
- In the “To” field: type the fax in the format: faxnumber@concordsend.com
- Attach the document
- Click Send
Supported File Types for eFax
- Microsoft Word (*.doc, *.docx)
- Microsoft Excel (*.xls, *.xlsx)
- Microsoft PowerPoint (*.ppt, *.pptx)
- Microsoft Visio (*.vsd)
- HyperText Markup Language (*.html, *.mhtml)
- Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf)
- TIFF image (*.tif)
- ASCII Text (*.txt)
- Rich Text (*.rtf)
Once you send the eFax, you will receive a message that your fax is successfully queued as well as a confirmation email of successful fax delivery. Should you receive an error message, check the send as email as well as the fax number along with the user guide. Should the error not resolve please contact the support desk.
To Receive a Fax
You will receive faxes on the email that is specified in the eFax setup.
Accessing the Concord Web Portal
- Login to login.concord.net/v1/account/login
- Your Username is the email you provided to receive fax
- Please use the “Forgot password link” to setup the account.
Charges
The base monthly charge for eFax is $5.25/month plus any costs based on usage for outbound/inbound faxes as shown below

Ordering eFax Service
In order to set up eFax, there are two options for the primary email addresses associated with the fax number.
- Option 1: A fax number with a single sender and receiver. Use your own address.
- Option 2: A fax number with multiple senders and receivers. Use a departmental email address.
To keep costs low, we recommend option 2 for departments requiring multiple users to send and receive faxes.
