Under the leadership of the Office of the Provost, Illinois Tech partners with institutions and industry to further Illinois Tech's founding mission as a twenty-first century university: to educate learners of all backgrounds for meaningful roles in a changing society and to do good for humanity through our scholarship. One such partnership, with DMG MORI, will establish a national center for advanced manufacturing.
Illinois Tech is also a member of the Midwest Microelectronics Consortium (MMEC) Hub, which was awarded nearly $25 million as part of the "Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) and Science Act" funding for the establishment of eight Microelectronics Commons (Commons) regional innovation hubs.
