Group therapy provides you the opportunity to share experiences, learn new perspectives, and experiment with new behaviors in a safe and supportive environment with others who may have similar experiences. Research has shown that group therapy can be an effective way to address a variety of personal and interpersonal concerns. Groups meet once a week, and typically have six to eight members and one or two trained group therapists. Group therapy sessions are 60 minutes and occur on a weekly basis. Groups are free of charge.
The Student Health and Wellness Center may have several groups running during a semester. Past group themes have included academic success, international students, graduate students, social anxiety, and understanding self and others.
