The curriculum includes courses covering construction methods and cost estimating, construction planning and scheduling, and construction contract administration.
Careers
Construction managers, general contractors, and project managers coordinate and supervise building projects. Their responsibilities may include preparing cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables; collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists; monitoring projects and reporting to clients; problem solving on site; and ensuring that projects comply with legal requirements.
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay in 2022 for construction managers was $101,480 and the number of jobs for construction managers is projected to grow five percent from 2022 to 2032. Demand for construction managers is spurred by factors such as population and business growth, an emphasis on retrofitting buildings to make them more energy efficient, and governmental efforts to maintain and improve existing infrastructure.
