Coordinating Campus and Community Walks

Scope of Work:

Coordinate a series of walks around campus and/or the neighborhood; each walk is “hosted” by a person in a leadership role or an individual heading up an initiative that others should know about. This work will involve establishing a schedule of these events, lining up the hosts, coordinating invitations, soliciting feedback from attendees, etc. The deliverable will be to track feedback from attendees to understand what they felt was beneficial about the activity. Ideally, they will learn more about how the campus operates (while getting some exercise!), and there may be other benefits such as feeling more connected and part of something bigger.

Develop recommendations for the most welcoming onboarding and acclimation experience for faculty and staff

Scope of Work:

This work will involve reviewing current state, past recommendations and rethinking these recommendations in the current hybrid environment. Final deliverable will be a set of recommendations for hiring departments/managers and the Office of Human Resources.

Build more empathy in our culture

Scope of Work:

Identify situations that faculty and staff might experience either permanently, temporarily, or episodically, where they might not receive the empathy and understanding they are hoping for. Examples could include caring for others at home, childcare challenges, commuting issues, mourning a loss, etc. What can we/should we do? This work will involve research and focus groups to compile various points of view. Final deliverable will be a set of recommendations.

Building more engagement between faculty and staff

Scope of Work:

There are many, many examples of great collaboration between faculty and staff. How can we expand upon this? This work is likely to be focus-group and research based, and the deliverable will be a set of recommendations.

Develop a framework for appreciating all points of view for healthier and more productive conversations and execution

Scope of Work:

This involves exploring existing methodologies (e.g., MBTI, DISC, Social Styles, and others) that would allow a common language to evolve, enhancing collaboration and communications while helping us appreciate the viewpoints and approaches of others. This work will involve research into methodologies and seeking input from others. Final deliverable will be list of various options with best recommendations.
