The Office of General Counsel drafts and reviews contracts to which IIT is a party. Many agreements are routine and involve insubstantial amounts of money. Such contracts do not require review by the General Counsel's Office. However, contracts involving novel issues, complicated business arrangements or substantial payments require review by the Office.
Below is a link to IIT's policy on contracts. This policy sets out when the General Counsel's Office should approve contracts and which administrators have authority to sign contracts on IIT's behalf. Anyone authorized to sign contracts should feel free to contact the Office of General Counsel prior to signing any contract.
