IIT at 59th Annual Health Physics Society Meeting

Date

IIT's Master of Health Physics program had a strong presence at the 59th Annual Health Physics Society (HPS) Meeting, held this July in Baltimore, MD.

S.Y. Chen, director of the health physics program and HPS Fellow, attended and gave a talk, as did Bruce Toomire, a student in the program. Toomire and several other students in the program attended the meeting on a travel grant awarded by the HPS, which required them to work at the meeting, helping with registration, setup, and other various tasks. When they weren’t working, they were able to attend talks and walk the tradeshow floor, where IIT had a booth manned by Elizabeth Friedman, director if IIT’s professional master’s programs. Here, alumni of the program and their employers, many of whom also had booths at the meeting, were able to network with IIT constituents.
