IIT Armour Adds Three More AIMBE Fellows

Three faculty members of IIT Armour College of Engineering have recently been elected as new fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).

Eric Brey, Philip Troyk, and Miles Wernick will be inducted at the AIMBE Annual Event, March 15th, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C.

Eric Brey, Professor of Biomedical Engineering will be recognized for outstanding contributions to the fields of tissue engineering and engineering education. Philip Troyk, Assistant Dean of Armour College of Engineering and Professor of Biomedical Engineering will be recognized for outstanding contributions to the development of technology for implantable neural prostheses. Miles Wernick, Motorola Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Director of Medical Imaging Research Center and Professor of Biomedical Engineering, will be recognized for outstanding research, educational, and commercial accomplishments in medical imaging, image processing and analysis.

Armour's exceptional faculty continue to be recognized by communities beyond their research disciplines. Upon their induction, IIT Armour College of Engineering will have five AIMBE fellows - joining Dean Natacha DePaola and Vincent Turitto - to be in the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the field.
