INTM Announces New Courses for Summer and Fall 2018
This summer INTM will offer a new course, INTM 536 Lean Six Sigma, as part of the Masters in Industrial Technology and Operations (MITO) curriculum. INTM Industry Professor Will Maurer will teach this course about the Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement tools for driving process excellence and solving complex problems. Students will be introduced to specific quantitative and qualitative approaches, learn how to evaluate, introduce and lead Lean Six Sigma projects, and capture the impact of improvements to increase value to an organization and its customers.
This fall INTM will offer a new course, INTM 551 Data Analytics in Industry, also a graduate-level course, exploring how organizations employ rigorous analysis of vast amounts of internal and external data to improve the quality of decision making. INTM Industry Professor Gurram Gopal, Ph.D., will teach this course to prepare students to define and organize data, perform exploratory analysis, and select and implement analytical models, with a focus on applications in the areas of operations and marketing.
