Three student teams led by INTM faculty received awards at IPRO Day in April 2014. Dr. Dan Tomal and his team (pictured) received the Dean’s Choice Award for the School of Applied Technology for their work on energy efficiency within a Student Union Building titled Developing Insights that Support Energy Efficiency Improvement Strategies for Varied Built Environments (IPRO 338). Their work is sponsored by the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) Student Committee/NECA IIT Student Chapter, and is preparation for participation in the NECA Student Chapter Green Energy Challenge later in the year.
Blake Davis facilitated two award-winning projects; Site Planning for Neighborhood-Based Food & Energy Production Technologies (IPRO 321), sponsored by Blacks in Green, and Urban Agriculture Innovation: UFarm IIT (IPRO 497-02D).
INTM faculty oversee several Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) which directly involve industry every semester. IPRO Day provides an opportunity for representatives of industry and education to review the work of all IIT student teams and recognize their achievements.
