INTM mourns the passing of Dr. Keith E. McKee
With great sadness, we inform our students, alumni, friends, and professional associates of the loss of INTM's longtime director, Dr. Keith E. McKee, who passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 81.
Many consider McKee IIT's Champion of Industry. He was an IIT alumnus (CE '50, MS '56, PhD '62) with five decades of service to the university. He founded the Industrial Technology and Management (INTM) program in 1994 after retiring from a 30-plus-year career at IIT Research Institute, where, for over 18 years, he focused on assisting hundreds of Chicagoland manufacturers to improve productivity and competitiveness.
In his honor, the scholarship fund McKee established in 1996 for INTM students was formally renamed the Keith E. McKee Scholarship Fund. Gifts in Keith's memory may be made to the McKee Scholarship Fund at IIT, c/o Kay Callan, 10 W. 35th Street, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60616.
In addition, the university has planted a tree in McKee's honor on the west side of the 3424 S. State Building. The Linden tree represents strength and longevity, characteristics representative of Dr. McKee's service and dedication to IIT.
