INTM Student Receives 2016 Traffic Club of Chicago Scholarship

Huayan “Sunny” Lin, a student in the Industrial Technology and Management (INTM) program, received a Traffic Club of Chicago (TCC) Scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year. TCC scholarships are given to students with demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to learning about transportation, logistics, and supply chain, both in and outside of the University classroom. Recipients are selected for the quality of their academic work, leadership skills, and their commitment to their intended profession, as evidenced by their employment or internship experience and/or participation in extracurricular activities. The awards are presented at TCC's Executive Luncheon every Spring.
 

Sunny is in the INTM co-terminal (Bachelors and Masters) degree program at Illinois Tech. She has been preparing for a career in supply chain management for several years. She came to Chicago from Xiamen, Fujian, China where she got her start learning about supply chain as a wholesale and retail Sales Representative for a global distribution company. Prior to starting INTM she attended City Colleges of Chicago ---Daley and Olive Harvey-- to earn an AAS degree in Transportation Distribution and Logistics (TDL). At Illinois Tech, Sunny has been active in the student chapters of the Association for Operations Management (APICS) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). Her participation has given her the opportunity to attend seminars and workshops, plan professional development events, and travel to New Orleans to attend the APICS Annual Conference to. Sunny’s INTM coursework and extracurricular activities have helped her to gain confidence, acquire new skills, and build a network of Supply Chain professionals for her future.
