Lauren Ribordy Illinois Runner-Up for NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing
Lauren Ribordy, a Glenbrook High School student who worked at IIT last summer with Ioan Raicu, assistant professor of computer science, was named a 2013 Illinois Affiliate Award Runner-Up for the Aspirations in Computing Award given by the National Center for Women & IT (NCWIT). Ribordy is interested in human computer interaction (HCI), and for her work she performed latency and bandwidth tests and presented statistics on the results.
Aspirations in Computing is a talent development program that aims to engage young women interested in technology and computing, generate visibility for them, and encourage them to continue their interest in computing.
