Math Education Team Presents at TODOS 2016 Mathematics for All Conference

Gorjana Popovic, senior lecturer, and Susie Morrissey, Ph.D. student, Mathematics and Science Education, presented a workshop, “How Does Professional Development on Common Core State Standards-Mathematics Relate to Student Achievement in an Urban High School?” at the TODOS 2016 Conference “Ensuring Equity and Excellence in Mathematics for ALL, June 23-25 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

MSED faculty and staff participated in the "Implementing Rigorous Mathematics Standards-Based Curriculum " track. "Their workshop explored the effect of professional development of secondary faculty (grades 9-12) on student classroom performance.

TODOS: Mathematics for All is an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Educators committed to equity in mathematics education founded TODOS in 2003. With over 700 members, their mission is to advocate for equity and high-quality mathematics education for all students, particularly Latino students.
