In Memoriam of Board of Advisor Member and CAEE Alumnus Herbert Levinson

Armour College of Engineering Board of Advisor Member and CAEE Alumnus Herbert S. Levinson (CE ‘49, Hon. Ph.D. ’13) passed away on February 17, 2017. He worked as a transportation consultant and was a member of the Armour College of Engineering Board of Advisors. He was a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a past member of the Transportation Research Board Executive Committee. Illinois Institute of Technology awarded Levinson the 2014 Professional Achievement Alumni Award and an honorary doctorate in 2013. He received the Presidential Design Award for Excellence in 1994.

Levinson is survived by wife Sally, nieces Dr. Donna Goldenberg Feldman, Debra Goldenberg, niece-in-law Carole Kaplan Goldenberg, nephew-in-law David Feldman, two grand nieces Dr. Sara Feldman and Caren Feldman, seven grand nephews Michael Feldman, Ben Goldenberg, Jonathan Feldman, Russell Goldenberg, Steven Feldman, Daniel Goldenberg, and Eric Feldman, and two stepsons Dr. Joel Hasbrouk and Brian Hasbrouk.

Graveside Services were held on February 19 at 10:30 am at the Mishkan Israel Cemetery. For those who wish to further honor Herb's memory, donations can be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, CAMERA, or the ACLU.
