MMAE Students Participate in the 4th Annual Sketch Model Challenge
On February 3, 2014 students from Armour College of Engineering’s Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE) Department took part in the Sketch Model Challenge. The friendly challenge introduced students to the materials commonly used in sketch modeling and demonstrated the role of craftsmanship in prototyping during a fun competition that helped to kick-start innovative thinking. Teams had to design a device that could successfully carry one student without that student touching the ground. The device had to be constructed out of insulation foam, foam core board, or any paper product. Using any non-approved product would result in a penalty. The students then competed in a dodgeball tournament while riding on their apparatus. Winners of the tournament to be announced soon.
