Research from Associate Professor Brent Stephens’ Lab Makes Big Impact at Engineering Sustainability 2017
Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering Brent Stephens presented his lecture “Indoor Exposures to Outdoor Air Pollution” as a plenary presentation at Engineering Sustainability 2017: Innovation and the Triple Bottom Line. The biennial conference brings together engineers and scientists from academia, government, industry, and nonprofits to share results of cutting-edge research and practice directed at development of environmentally sustainable buildings and infrastructure.
Professor Stephens and the research conducted in his lab made a big impact on the conference as two of his Ph.D. students also presented their work. Recent Alumnus Parham Azimi (Ph.D., ENVE ‘16) presented “Development and Application of a Complex Infection Transmission Model for Predicting Influenza Exposures in Indoor Environments.” Current student, Torkan Fazil (Ph.D Candidate, CE), also presented her work, “Development of a Nationally Representative Set of Combined Building Energy and Indoor Air Quality Models for U.S. Residences.”
The event was help April 9-11, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
