Stuart Team Places First in 2018 CFA Institute Research Challenge - Local Level
The Stuart School team has won first place in the Chicago local round of the 2018 CFA Institute Research Challenge, an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. The student team includes Juan Palacios, Hani Elgamal, Sai Harini Narayanan, Shruti Khetan, Raina Shah and the team advisor is Michael Rybak, Senior Lecturer of Finance. Seventeen Chicago-area universities submitted reports, and the Stuart team's score moved them to the presentation round where they competed with teams from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northern Illinois University, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Loyola University Chicago, Northeastern Illinois University, and several others.
The Stuart team now moves on to compete in the Americas Regional competition in Boston on March 19-20. The winners of that round will then compete in the Global Final on April 27 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Teams from Stuart have won the Chicago local round of the challenge six out of the last seven years.
