Students Honored at Chicago Innovation Awards Ceremony

IIT Stuart’s J. Thomas Gaskin, IV (M.B.A./M.Des. ‘14), and IIT Institute of Design collaborators Maggee Bond (M.Des. '14), Anushree Jain (M.Des. '14), and Alisa Weinstein (M.Des. '13) won the student competition at this year’s Chicago Innovation Awards Scholarship Competition held Wednesday, April 9. Gaskin and his project partners (pictured at left) won the Gold Prize and $5,000 for their project titled “Catalyst," a web-based service to connect scientists with specialized lab instruments.

Additional IIT student winners include Evan Scott (M.B.A./M.Des. ‘15), Pingshi Li (M.S. MAC ‘15), Mukesh Muthu (M.B.A. ‘16), Yiyang Liu (M.S. MAC ‘15), Yingxian Lin (M.S. MAC ‘15), and Sheng Mao (M.B.A. ‘15). Over 100 student entries were submitted for this competition that Interim Associate Dean Krishna Erramilli and Assistant Dean Ana Rossetti facilitated with Chicago Innovation Awards.
