IIT's Industrial Technology and Management Program awarded the Irving M. Footlik Scholarship for 2013-14 to two incoming students: Xavier Murphy, a transfer student from Moraine Valley Community College, and Christopher Usatuck, a transfer student from College of DuPage. The scholarship covers 50% tuition for two courses during the first year of attendance. Mrs. Sylvia Footlik and her son, Robert B. Footlik (IE ’68), presented the award on behalf of the Irving M. and Sylvia Footlik Foundation, at a recent luncheon. The award marks the fifth year of Footlik Scholarships for INTM students.
This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Irving M. Footlik (ME ’39), a dedicated and involved IIT alumnus who, with his wife Sylvia, gave time, attention and financial support to multiple campus initiatives and student projects. The scholarship benefits students who obtain practical training at a community college and transfer to IIT to pursue the Bachelor of Industrial Technology and Management (BINTM).
