Faculty Statement on Diversity

Whereas, Illinois Tech faculty observe that
A culture is strengthened by its diversity when it is not merely ignored, tolerated, or acknowledged but celebrated in open, respectful discourse and cooperation.

Therefore, be it resolved that
Illinois Tech faculty strive to promote a diverse culture of unity, inclusivity, equity, and respect. Our expectation is that everyone in our community shall treat one another with respect and dignity, and without discrimination in regard to any identity or status including, but not limited to, gender, race, ethnicity, background, country of origin, religious affiliation, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, socioeconomic status, or disability.

The Illinois Tech faculty are committed to welcoming students, faculty and staff, whoever they may be, whatever their identity is, to come and live, study and work together in our community. We strive to build a campus environment where all individuals are free to be themselves and feel well-supported. The faculty are unwavering in this commitment.
