The Office of the Registrar determines the Final Exam Schedule based on final student registration data and therefore begins scheduling final exams after the add/drop classes deadline for the semester. The Office of the Registrar schedules final exams with the goal of minimizing the number of student exam conflicts and the number of students with three or more exams on the same day.
Faculty Note: The final exam schedule posted above is a static report. For an up-to-date final exam schedule, please go to your Faculty Dashboard via the new Illinois Tech Portal and click on the Faculty Schedule link.
IMPORTANT: Room Assignments
The Office of the Registrar assigns the regular meeting classroom for all final exams. If a room conflict occurs, then the final exam will be assigned to a different classroom. Please review the final exam schedule to see where the final exam will take place.
Please Note: Students should refer to their syllabus and confirm with their instructors the details regarding final exams as they are subject to change. Students and their instructors are expected to meet at the designated time and location during finals week for exams or presentations. Regular class sessions are not to be held during the week of final exams. Final exams are not to be administered prior to the published date and time for the course.

- Generally, labs, seminars, independent studies, and research courses do not have a final exam.
Final Exam Conflicts
- Online Exam Conflict: Students who are taking online courses may elect to take the final exam on campus with the on-campus section. Students who have exam conflicts between the online exam and an on-campus exam must contact Charles Scott, student service manager for the Center for Learning Innovation, at scott@iit.edu to arrange to take the online final exam with a proctor at another time.
- On-Campus Exam Conflict: Students who have an exam conflict between two or more on-campus sections are to contact the instructors of the courses to arrange to take one of the final exams at another time. If the exam conflict is not resolved, then students may contact registrar@iit.edu, where a staff member will assist you and your instructors in resolving the exam conflict.
- Three or More Exams on Same Day: Students who have three or more exams on the same day may request relief by contacting the instructors of the courses to request that one of the exams be rescheduled to a different day. If the issue is not resolved, then students may contact registrar@iit.edu, where a staff member will assist you and your instructors in making special arrangements for you to take one of the exams on a different day.
