Email Service
You will use Gmail until December 27th, 2024. OTS will migrate your existing emails and your calendar into Microsoft Exchange 365. We are working with our partners on training materials along with conducting bootcamps to support you through this transition.
Google Workspace Data
OTS will be migrating your data from Google Drive to Microsoft OneDrive. Presently, storage quotas are being determined. Please check back later for updates. Your files will be moved to OneDrive by April 2025. We will send more information about the migration as it persists. OneDrive will be your new storage location for files. OTS does not have the ability to migrate Google photos, to transfer Google Photos, please follow these instructions.
*Note – you presently have access to OneDrive and may begin using it for storage now. If you have access issues, please contact the support desk at supportdesk@iit.edu.
Graduating Students (May 2024/December 2024)
Email Service
Students graduating in the Fall and Spring of 2024 can continue to use Gmail for 12 months post-graduation. You may also opt to sign up for alumni email forwarding during that time by opting in by completing our email forwarding form. Email sent to your Illinois Tech address will be automatically forwarded to your designated, personal mailbox. Illinois Tech will not hold a copy of these emails; emails are simply redirected to your personal mailbox without resting in an Illinois Tech hosted mailbox. To move your email, please review these instructions for Google Takeout.

Files stored on your Illinois Tech Google Workspace account (e.g., data in Drive, emails in Gmail, pictures in Photos) need to be moved if you wish to keep your data. The Google Takeout tool lets you download a copy, or you may transfer the data to a personal Google account using the transfer tool. Takeout will generate a .zip file that you can move to a personal storage solution, while a transfer moves your data directly into another Google account. To transfer Google Photos, please follow these instructions.
Alumni
Email Service
Illinois Tech will no longer be able to host a mailbox for former students. As an alumnus, you may choose to keep your Illinois Tech email address by opting in by completing our email forwarding form.
